Caveat emptor (am i just an ignoramus)? :p

In the last 2 weeks, I have been in a continuous battle with the cable TV and internet service provider who insist that i have to pay for a service that they claimed i signed up for but one which I have no idea i had... and one which I have been billed for the last 6 months.  (OK, my fault for not checking the monthly bill).  This came to light as I submitted the forms to terminate my services.  The odd thing is that my contract for internet services is for 1 year but this phantom service (which is supposed to be bundled with my internet) is for 2 years (up till 2013)!  Sad to say, i have been unsuccessful in getting them to explain to me why i should pay for something i didn't use.

Ripped off ...AGAIN!
It appears that it is very easy to sign up for services here in HK but difficult to terminate without all sorts of "fine prints" being invoked, which naturally will lead to additional payment (the service providers call it "termination fee"). For those here in HK, do be careful when some guy/gal calls you up to tell you that it is a service renewal - there are usually bundled services included but are not clearly explained over the phone.  Best go to the service centres in person to renew your contracts.

Anyway, this was all Neko could say ... :-)
